FN0772-COMMERCIAL - Salmon - Sockeye - Gill Net, Seine, Aboriginal Economic Opportunities Area 4 Update - August 3, 2023

As of August 2, 2023, the in-season Total Return To Canada (TRTC) point estimate of Skeena Sockeye is 1.92M. The estimated TRTC has been declining for several weeks, and may indicate the run size is likely to fall below the current point estimate.  

To date, approximately 283,000 Skeena Sockeye have been caught, with the remainder of the Total Allowable Catch already allocated. Subsequently, no additional marine commercial fisheries for Skeena Sockeye are anticipated.
