FN0615-Draft IFMP for Pacific Sardine Available for Comment

Pacific Sardine has not been commercially harvested in BC waters since 2012 due to reduced migration (a general absence of Pacific Sardine in BC waters) and formal fishery closures from 2015 to 2020. Harvest advice based on available stock assessment information recommends that this fishery remain closed in 2021. Food, social or ceremonial (FSC) and recreational harvest are still permitted under appropriate licences. A draft Integrated Fisheries Management Plan with additional related information is available for review and comment until July 25, 2021.
