Fishery Notice

As a result of COVID-19 market disruptions, the 2020 commercial Pacific Lingcod fishery has been extended for the 2020 season only. The extended season closing date will now be 12:00 hours local time, December 7, 2020.

All Groundfish Hook and Line harvesters wishing to fish or retain Lingcod in the extended Commercial Lingcod season (past the original season closure date of 23:59 hours November 14, 2020) must request an amendment to their conditions of licence prior to fishing. 

Following the closure of the fishery at 12:00 hours December 7, 2020, all fish caught under the authority of a Lingcod license eligibility, and where Lingcod is retained under the authority of a Groundfish Hook and Line licence eligibility, must be landed and validated by a DFO-designated Groundfish dockside observer no later than 12:00 hours, December 14, 2020. 

Requesting an amendment to your conditions of licence:
Amended conditions of licence are automatically provided when requesting a quota reallocation, or harvesters can submit a request by filling out a licence amendment request form. These forms can be accessed from the Department's Pacific Groundfish website: http://www.pac.dfo-mpo.gc.ca/fm-gp/commercial/ground-fond/form-eng.html. 

Completed forms can be emailed to groundfishivq@dfo-mpo.gc.ca or faxed to 1-866-561-5729.

Please refer to your amended conditions of licence for detailed information and requirements. Please note that Variation Orders 2020-624 and 2020-625 are in effect.
