FN1153-Groundfish Trawl: Seasonal Expansion of Pilot 800-Line/Circle Tow Closure to Bottom Trawl Fishing from November 1, 2020 to March 31, 2021

An agreement has been reached between representatives of the Groundfish Trawl Advisory Committee and Halibut Advisory Board to implement an expansion of the pilot bottom trawl closure (FN0225-2019) from November 1, 2020 until March 31, 2021 at a fishing location in the Queen Charlotte Sound known as the Circle Tow by the groundfish trawl fleet and the 800 Line by the Halibut fleet.

This expanded seasonal closure is an interim management measure that is intended to limit harvest of spawning aggregations of arrowtooth flounder and halibut. The year-round pilot bottom trawl closure (FN0255-2019) that was implemented in March 2019 continues to be in effect.
