The date for submission has been extended to March 25, 2019.  

Application for crab trap re-allocation will be permitted in Area B, Area E-
Sooke, Area E-Tofino, Area G, Area H and Area J for 2020/21 season and will be 
accepted through the National Online Licensing System (NOLS)from the licence 
eligibility holder that is re-allocating traps. 

Application forms will sent by email to Area B, Area E - Sooke, Area E-Tofino, 
Area G, Area H and Area J licence eligibility holders upon request by email to 
dillon.buerk@dfo-mpo.gc.ca
 
Applications for crab trap re-allocation will be accepted until Wednesday, 
March 25, 2019.  Applications submitted after March 25, 2019 will NOT be 
accepted.

Traps may be re-allocated to but not from owner/operator "grandfathered" 
restricted licence eligibilities.

Trap re-allocation is permitted to another vessel within the same fishing area, 
100% of the traps associated with the crab licence eligibility re-allocating 
the traps will be relinquished and the trap allocation will be zero for the 
licence year. Whereas the receiving vessel may then fish a partial re-
allocation of the relinquished traps. All trap reallocations will be reverted 
back to the original crab licence eligibility at the end of the licence year.  
 
Trap reallocations cannot be reversed once the transaction has been completed.

Prior to submitting a request for trap re-allocation, please ensure for both 
the vessel allocating the traps and the vessel receiving the re-allocated traps 
that:
1)	Any Ministerial conditions placed on the licence eligibility are met.
2)	Any conditions of the previous year's licence, such as submission and

The completed application form must be digitally attached by scanning and 
uploading an Adobe pdf, or photo extensions jpg, jpeg, bmp, tiff. 

Communal Commercial Licence (FR) licence eligibility holders that are re-
allocating or receiving traps are required to designate the eligible vessel on 
the application form. The vessel must be registered as a Canadian commercial 
fishing vessel, and may not exceed the Maximum Vessel Length (MVL) of the 
licence eligibility.

Notification will be sent via email to advise licence holders that a change has 
been made to the licence holder's online NOLS account when the request has been 
processed.

Refer to the conditions of licence and the Integrated Fisheries Management Plan 
(IFMP) for trap allocation in subareas.
 
When the Integrated Fisheries Management Plan (IFMP) has been approved the Crab 
by Trap 2020/21 licence renewal fee will be available for payment through the 
National Online Licensing System

Licence eligibility holders will use the National Online Licensing System 
(NOLS) to view, pay for and print their commercial fishing licences, licence
