Further to FN1015 the selection by random draw for the Area 14 Chum 
Demonstration Fishery was concluded at the DFO Campbell River office on October 
11, 2019.

Vessel Masters will be contacted by in the order shown above to confirm their 
intention to fish in the Area 14 Demonstration fishery.

Vessel masters will be expected to maintain a detailed logbook and assist DFO 
with coordinating the collection of biological samples.

Before initiating the demo fishery, DFO will continue to monitor the Chum 
escapements to the Puntledge, and Big and Little Qualicum Rivers. A notice will 
come out Wednesday, October 16, indicating if the planned fishery will go ahead 
on Friday, October 18, based on the escapement information.

The next announcement will be Wednesday, October 16.
