The following areas are open for commercial harvesting of Spawn on Kelp under 
the authority of a Category J licence on the dates specified:
 
Subareas 4-5, 4-6, and 4-8 opened March 22 until 23:59 hours May 1, 2019.  

Variation Order 2019-187 in effect.
 

This opens Chatham Sound, Pearl Harbour, and portions of Big Bay to commercial 
SOK harvesting.    
	
It is important that licence holders and vessel masters refer to their licence 
text for individual licence areas.

This notice opens portions of licence areas within the Central Coast and 
portions of the North Coast for commercial harvesting of spawn on kelp.  

Areas 3, 4 and 10 are open under a precautionary management plan to guide 
operations.  Please contact below for more information.  

Operators wishing to participate in the 2019 fishing season must enrol in the 
mandatory monitoring program with Doug Tallman of JO Thomas and Associates
