FN1384-COMMERCIAL - Invertebrates: Euphausiid - COMMENCEMENT OF 2017 EUPHAUSIID LICENCE ISSUANCE - December 23, 2016.
Commercial Euphausiid Licence issuance for the 2017 fishery year is now available in the National Online Licensing System. Please note: Licence renewal applications will not be mailed this year. In-person counter service was suspended on September 1, 2013. Access to licensing services is now only available via the National Online Licensing System (NOLS). All fish harvesters are now required to pay their annual Euphausiid Licence fees through NOLS. For any registration or online access issues, client support is available via the toll-free telephone (1-877-535-7307), or e-mail(fishing-peche@dfo-mpo.gc.ca). NOLS registration information is also available online at: http://www.dfo-mpo.gc.ca/fm-gp/sdc-cps/products-produits/user-manual- utilisateurs-eng.htm. LICENSING INSTRUCTIONS: Licence eligibility holders may now complete all licence transactions online: Pay the Euphausiid licence fee in NOLS, and designate a vessel for this licence by selecting the following items in NOLS: Submit Request Vessel Transactions Attach/Detach a licence to/from a vessel Click in the check box to select the applicable licence Complete the Comment Box with either the designated vessel name and VRN (Vessel Registration Number) and vessel master name, OR, state that you are not harvesting, will not be designating a vessel and therefore are requesting Option N (non-fishing). Please check your NOLS 'Request Status' for any additional requirements or status of your licence. Note 1: both a fee payment and a 'Submit Request' for licence designation must be completed before we can issue a 2017 Euphausiid licence. Fee payment and licence designation are two separate tasks in NOLS. Note 2: if needed, contact us for a detailed instruction sheet on how to submit a request in NOLS. PRE-LICENSING CHECK-LIST: Before a licence can be issued, licence eligibility holders must ensure that: Any conditions of the previous year's licence are met, (e.g. completion, submission, and approval of any logbooks and fish slips). A Nil Report is required for licences that were designated to a vessel but not fished. Contact the Shellfish Data Unit for assistance: 250-756-7306 or 250-756-7022. Ensure that the vessel designated is eligible for a salmon, schedule II species, geoduck, sablefish, halibut crab, shrimp trawl, groundfish trawl, or prawn and shrimp by trap commercial licence, or one that has been designated to fish a category N or eligible category F licence for the current year. The designated vessel meets the MVL requirements of the licence eligibility. A maximum of one Euphausiid licence may be designated to a vessel. Any Ministerial conditions placed on the licence eligibility have been met.
