FN1243-Urgent Information: Systems Outage for all Pacific Region Information Systems - Previous Notice
Due to a previous DFO system outage, which occurred from October 17-19, 2016, this notice is being posted for your information and for archive purposes. There is currently a system outage impacting all of the of DFO's Pacific Region's Fisheries Management Business Information Systems including Scientific, Recreational and Commercial Licensing Systems, Catch and Effort (Harvest)Systems, Fishery Notices (Fishery Openings/Closures & Health Notices), Quota Management Systems, Fishery Reports, etc. This outage was directly related to a local intense weather system which impacted Southern Vancouver Island. Shared Services Canada staff is working diligently to restore services as soon as possible but with an ETA to be posted shortly. We thank you for your patience. Systems impacted include: Web Services - collect catch information from commercial fishers XNET - known as the Pacific Region Extranet that provides archival information on commercial fisheries Vessel Registration Number (VRN) Directory - provides ship's registration information. National Recreational Licensing System (NRLS) - Provides online tidal water sport fishing licensing services Fishery Operating System (FOS) - provides online catch information Groundfish Quota Management System (QMS) - provides groundfish quota management information. NOLS - National On-line Licensing System (provide on-line access to pay licence fees and request commercial licences) Aquaculture Licensing System - provides aquaculture licences and information Fishery Notices - provide information on fishery openings, closures and updates Current Fishery Notices may be read but no new notices will be published. We regret any inconvenience this may have caused and ask that you please plan your activities accordingly.
