Effective November 1, 2016 until further notice: Due to shellfish product on BC Land Registry aquaculture tenure # 1402060 exceeding the bacteriological standard for E.coli in raw shellfish, the Pacific Interdepartmental Shellfish Committee has agreed that a closure is warranted. Harvest of bivalve shellfish is now prohibited until further notice from a portion of Subarea 14-8 in Baynes Sound which includes BC Land Registry Shellfish Aquaculture Tenure # 1402060 Sanitary Closure Area 14.qq - Aquaculture Lease Land File # 1402060 The waters and intertidal foreshore of BC Land Registry Aquaculture Tenure # 1402060, Subarea 14-8, Baynes Sound, with legal description "that part of District Lot 149, together with unsurveyed Crown foreshore or land covered by water being part of the bed of Baynes Sound, Nanaimo District.
