FN0972-RECREATIONAL - Salmon - Babine Lake - Region 6 - Sockeye Salmon Daily Limit Update


Effective September 10, 2016 to September 15, 2016, the recreational daily 
limit for Sockeye salmon is four (4), in the waters of Babine Lake, not 
including tributaries and those waters within a 400 m radius of the following 
tributary streams: Morrison Creek, Six Mile Creek, Pierre Creek, Pendleton 
Creek, Hazelwood Creek, Twain Creek, Tachek Creek, Five Mile Creek, Four Mile 
Creek, Sockeye Creek, Big Loon Creek, Tsezakwa Creek.

In accordance with the Northern BC Salmon Integrated Fisheries Management Plan, 
when an ESSR fishery is conducted by Lake Babine Nation the recreational daily 
limit for sockeye is increased to four.

Notes:

Please be aware of the following no fishing closures in this area:
Babine Lake east of a line from Gullwing Creek to the south shore of Babine 
Lake.
Babine Lake within a 400m radius of the mouth of Pinkut Creek.
Barbed hooks are allowed in Babine Lake.

If you're going fishing for salmon in non-tidal (fresh) waters, you need a Non-
Tidal Angling Licence, issued by the Province of British Columbia.  Visit the 
provincial website to buy your licence. Licences are available to B.C. 
residents and non-residents. Fees may vary and are listed online.
