Subject:
FN0624-Recreational - Salmon: Area 29 - Chinook Management Actions for Subareas 29-6, 29-7, 29-9 and 29-10.

Further to FN0523, the Department will be managing fisheries based on
management zone 1 (i.e. returns to the Fraser below or equal to 45,000
Chinook).

Effective dates: Immediately until July 31, 2016.

Waters: Subareas 29-6, 29-7, 29-9 and 29-10 (Fraser River mouth).

Management measure: You may not retain Chinook salmon in these waters.

Adjustments to management actions may be required to account for adverse
environmental conditions and associated uncertainties. Management actions
starting August 1, 2016 will be announced in a separate fishery notice.

VARIATION ORDER NUMBER: 2016-295 and 301.

Notes:

Barbless hooks are required when fishing for salmon in tidal waters of British
Columbia.

The term "marked" means a hatchery fish that has a healed scar in place of the
adipose fin.

Sport anglers are encouraged to participate in the Salmon Sport Head Recovery
program by labelling and submitting heads from adipose fin-clipped chinook and
coho salmon. Recovery of coded-wire tags provides critical information for
coast-wide stock assessment. Contact the Salmon Sport Head Recovery Program
toll free at (866) 483-9994 for further information.

Anglers are advised to check:
