FN0916-RECREATIONAL - Salmon: Region 6 - Skeena River Watershed - Sockeye Salmon Daily Limit
Effective August 22, 2015, the recreational daily limit of Sockeye salmon will increase to two (2) per day in following areas of the Skeena River watershed. Effective August 22, 2015 to September 15, 2015 Babine Lake, not including tributaries, excluding those waters within a 400 m radius of the following tributary streams: Morrison Creek, Six Mile Creek, Pierre Creek, Pendleton Creek, Hazelwood Creek, Twain Creek, Tachek Creek, Five Mile Creek, Four Mile Creek, Sockeye Creek, Big Loon Creek, Tsezakwa Creek. Effective August 22, 2015 to August 31, 2015 Babine River Effective August 22, 2015 to September 15, 2015 Skeena River mainstem waters only, downstream of the confluence with the Babine River to the CNR railway bridge at Terrace, B.C. (Except for the area on the north bank of the Skeena River, from Mill Creek upstream to a white triangular fishing boundary sign 100 m upstream of the confluence with the Kitwanga River, 0 per day.) Effective August 22, 2015 to September 15, 2015 Skeena River mainstem waters downstream of CNR Railway bridge at Terrace, B.C. Notes: Please be aware of the following no fishing closures in this area: Babine Lake east of a line from Gullwing Creek to the south shore of Babine Lake. Babine Lake within a 400m radius of the mouth of Pinkut Creek. Babine River between fishing boundary signs posted approximately 100m upstream of and 80m downstream of the adult fish counting fence. Single, barbless hooks are required when fishing for salmon in non-tidal waters of British Columbia. Barbed hooks are allowed in Babine Lake. If you're going fishing for salmon in non-tidal (fresh) waters, you need a Non- Tidal Angling Licence, issued by the Province of British Columbia. Visit the provincial website to buy your licence. Licences are available to B.C. residents and non-residents. Fees may vary and are listed online.
