There are industry test vessels and the DFO charter vessel the Denman Isle
assessing stocks and sampling in the Strait of Georgia this morning.
There have been three test sets this morning in Baynes Sound, which ranged from
8.5% to 10.5%. When the fish are acceptable and also if there is a request to
open the area, DFO will contact all the pool captains prior to opening the
area. The area would open once the setting boats for each pool have been
verified. There will be a seine pool captains meeting in Deep Bay this
afternoon to discuss fishery set up and assessment options.

There was a spawn flight today form Nanaimo to Little River, no spawn was
observed.
