Opening 00:01 February 14, 2015 in the following Geoduck Management Areas (GMAs). SUMMARY: 13B, Marina Island 13C, Southwest Cortes Island 13D, Northwest Cortes Island 15G, Twin Islands Variation Order No. 2015-088 FISHERY CONTINUES: 14B02, North Comox Bar (outside portion) 14B03, North Comox Bar (inside portion) 14D, Hornby Island Variation Order No. 2015-068. Note: See Fishery Notice No. FN0089 Bivalve Shellfish Marine Biotoxin Update, as recommended by the Canadian Food Inspection Agency and issued by DFO. DETAILS: GMA 13B, Marina Island: Portions of Subarea 13-14 and 13-15 including the waters surrounding Marina Island from the shoreline to the 20m depth contour. GMA 13C, Southwest Cortes Island: Portions of Subareas 13-15, 13-14 and 13-1 described as that portion of Subarea 13-15 within 0.5 nautical miles of the shore of Cortes Island, excluding the waters surrounding Marina Island to the 20m depth contour and those portions of Subareas 13-14 and 13-1 within a 1.5 nautical mile radius of Sutil Point. GMA 13D, Northwest Cortes Island: Subareas 13-16 and 13-17, inclusive. GMA 15G, Twin Islands: A portion of Subarea 15-3 inside or northerly of a line 1.5 nautical miles from Sutil Point on Cortes Island along the subarea boundary to the most southern point of Twin Island then true east to the shore of Malaspina Peninsula, thence northerly along the shore to Sarah Point, thence westerly to Mary Point on Cortes Island, thence southerly along the shore of Cortes Island to the point of commencement. NOTES: North Coast and West Coast Vancouver Island areas are identified on separate Fishery Notices. See the 2014 Geoduck and Horse Clam Integrated Fisheries Management Plan (IFMP) for a more detailed description of the Fishing Protocol. The On-Grounds Monitor and/or Archipelago Marine Research will direct the fleet through Geoduck beds and GMAs.
