FN0083-Bivalve Shellfish: Marine Biotoxin - Update for Area 16 and Summary for all Areas - February 10, 2015
UPDATE: Maps of Fishery Management Areas and Subareas can be found at: http://www.pac.dfo-mpo.gc.ca/fm-gp/contamination/biotox/index-eng.htm Area 16 Effective immediately there is a harvest prohibition for all bivalve shellfish in Subarea 16-1 to 16-4, 16-10, 16-17 and 16-18. The product may be contaminated given the deviance from the sampling requirements established under the biotoxin monitoring program. Please see the summary table for the current status of all subareas in Area 16. SUMMARY: The following information in this fishery notice reflects Paralytic Shellfish Poisoning (PSP, red tide) and other marine toxin closures as of February 10, 2015 for bivalve shellfish (oysters, clams, scallops, mussels, and geoduck). Note that this fishery notice does not describe sewage contamination closures.
