FN0855-RECREATIONAL - Salmon: Sockeye- Region 7 - Nechako River - Opening - August 22, 2014
Effective 00:01 hours Friday, August 22, 2014 until 23:50 hours Monday, September 22, 2014 you may retain two (2) sockeye per day on the waters of the Nechako River from the Foothills Boulevard Bridge downstream to boundary signs at the confluence with the Fraser River. Fishing is permitted during daylight hours only. Day light hours only refers to (One hour before sunrise to one hour after sunset). Reference to sunrise and sunset means the times for those events as calculated by the National Research Council of Canada and published daily at http://weather.gc.ca/city/pages/bc-45_metric_e.html. This reflects a change to the BC Freshwater Salmon Supplement. Single barbless hooks are required when fishing for salmon in tidal and non- tidal waters of British Columbia. Sport anglers and guides are reminded to label and submit heads from adipose fin-clipped (hatchery-marked) chinook and coho salmon to the Salmon Head Recovery Program. Recovery of coded-wire tags from recreational fishers provides critical information for coast-wide stock assessment.
