Fishery Notice

Effective 00:01 hours, June 11, 2014, to Sept 30, 2014, the following area is 
closed to fishing for all finfish:

In that portion of subarea 23-1 in the tidal portion of the Somass River from 
signs located near the bottom of the rapids directly upstream of Papermill Dam 
park pool, downstream to boundary signs located on both sides of the Somass 
River, approximately 60 metres downstream from the northern tip of the unnamed 
island directly below Paper Mill Dam Pool.
	
Please note this does not include the fishing area upstream from the rapids to 
the tidal water boundary signs. 

This closure was approved at the Area 23 Harvest Committee meetings in the 
spring of 2014 and will be implemented in conjunction with a First Nation 
angling closure in the same area.
