UPDATE:

Maps of Fishery Management Areas and Subareas can be found at:

http://www.pac.dfo-mpo.gc.ca/fm-gp/contamination/biotox/index-eng.htm

Area 1

Effective immediately the harvest prohibition for razor clams is lifted in
Subarea 1-5.

The most recent marine biotoxin results were acceptable.

Please see the summary table below for the current status of all subareas in
Area 1.

Area 12

Effective immediately there is a harvest prohibition for all bivalve shellfish
in Subareas 12-6, 12-22, 12-23, 12-26, 12-39, 12-41 and 12-42.

The commercial fishery in Subareas 12-6, 12-22, 12-23, 12-26, 12-39, 12-41 and

Please see the summary table below for the current status of all subareas in
Area 12.

Area 24

Effective immediately there is a harvest prohibition for all bivalve shellfish
in Subarea 24-5.

This closure is due to a rapid rise in toxin levels in adjacent areas. The next
planned sample cannot be obtained and/or analysed within a reasonable time
frame to ensure consumer safety.

Please see the summary table below for the current status of all subareas in
Area 24.

NOTES:
Details are broken into Areas and Subareas, as managed by Fisheries and Oceans
Canada (DFO). Subarea information is not in the British Columbia Tidal Waters
Sport Fishing Guide, but it is readily available in non-navigable Subarea
management charts that can be obtained at DFO offices. In addition,
descriptions of Subareas are set out in the Pacific Fishery Management Area
Regulations, 2007. These regulations are available at libraries and from the
DFO Pacific Internet at:

http://www.pac.dfo-mpo.gc.ca/index-eng.htm

Maps of Fishery Management Areas and Subareas can also be found at:

http://www.pac.dfo-mpo.gc.ca/fm-gp/maps-cartes/areas-secteurs/index-eng.htm

The public is advised to consult the local DFO office nearest to the site of
harvest for the latest information on PSP and other marine toxin, sewage and
conservation closures prior to digging.
