This is to announce that the Commercial Salmon Advisory Board (CSAB) Salmon 
Area Harvest Committee Representative Nominations are now underway.  In order 
to be eligible to stand for election to the Area Harvest Committee, all 
nominations must be received by 16:00 hours on October 5th, 2012.

As in previous years, nominations forms are available from the Internet at:

A nomination may be made by the following:
- The contact owner for a vessel that permanently holds category A salmon 
licence eligibility/ies
- The licence eligibility holder for a category F or N salmon licence.
The nominator is deemed the "eligible voter" for the purposes of this process. 
One nomination may be made for each salmon licence eligibility. 

Each salmon area harvest committee representative nomination allows you to 
nominate ONE individual to represent you on the committee. The nominee does not 
have to be a salmon vessel owner/ licence eligibility holder.

link for by contacting the salmon officer.

Once the nominations have been recorded, a confirmation of receipt will be e-
mailed to the e-mail addresses listed on the nomination forms.  The names of 
individuals who have been nominated as Salmon Area Harvest Committee 
representatives will be announced via Fisheries Notice on a weekly basis. Once 
the nomination deadline is completed, a list of nominees and election forms 
will be mailed to eligible voters in each area. 

Proposed Timeline for the Election Process: 

1) Eligible voters are asked to complete and submit nomination forms to elect 
their Salmon Area Harvest Committee representatives by October 5, 2012.  An 
email will be sent in confirmation of receipt of the nomination.
2) Fishery Notice updates will be sent on a weekly basis on the nominations 
received to date.
3) A final Fishery Notice will be released with the final list of nominations 
on October 9, 2012.
4) Election ballots will be mailed out to licence holders and an announcement 
will be made via Fisheries Notice by October 15, 2012.
5) The deadline for submission of election ballots will be November 15, 2012.
6) It is anticipated that the release of election results will be by December 
7, 2012.

Summary of vacancies to fill and individuals with terms expiring for 2012 are 
listed below.  In Area A, there are two vacant positions whose term expires in 
2013. These two positions will be filled by the two elected individuals with 
the highest number of votes AFTER the other positions are filled (i.e. if 7 
nominations are made for Area A, the two with the least amount of votes will 
fill the vacant positions whose term expires in 2013).
