Spawn Reports March 30th: 

No active spawn reported today in the Central Coast

Spiller Channel - To-date the total spawn area extends from the entrance of 
Spiller Inlet to about 1.5 miles south of the Lagoon. Estimate 11 miles of 
spawn in total, 1 to 2 layers thick. 

Troup Passage - To-date estimate 4 to 5 miles total spawn area. Some heavy 
spawn reported up to 5 layers.

Scratches - Herring present in small schools 1 to 2 tons
Skimmer - Herring spread out near the surface, difficult to quantify
Fish on bottom - Herring too close to the bottom to quantify
Washed out spawn - Spawn that is coming to an end

Sooke Post in Spiller Inlet, Christav in Kildidt Sound, Franciscan No 1 on 
route to East Higgins Passage. Ocean Cloud expected to start spawn survey 
tomorrow.
