Egg deposition 1 to 2 layers. Active spawn today from Neekas Inlet southward 2.7 miles towards the Lagoon. Troup Passage - 2.5 miles of active spawn yesterday on the eastern shore of Chatfield Island from Sabiston Island extending 2.5 miles northward. Today the Chatfield Island spawn is washed out but spawn is active for approximately 2 miles around the two large islands near the narrows. Higgins Passage, Kitasu Bay & Clifford Bay - No spawn to date although fish are moving toward shallows. *Not included in major stock area Scratches - Herring present in small schools 1 to 2 tons Skimmer - Herring spread out near the surface, difficult to quantify Fish on bottom - Herring too close to the bottom to quantify Washed out spawn - Spawn that is coming to an end Miles - Means nautical miles for this bulletin Sooke Post to assess Seaforth Channel area, Christav headed to Troup Passage and Gunboat Passage, Franciscan No 1 to remain in Kitasu Bay.
