Spawn Reports March 27 & 28: 

Namu to Fairmile Passage - No active spawn, sea lions outside Warrior Cove, 
Illahie Inlet, Fairmile and Patrol Passages 

Kwakshua Channel - No active spawn, sea lions at eastern entrance

Nalau Passage, Kildidt Sound, Spider Anchorage, Cultus Sound, Peter Bay, 
Stryker Bay, Thompson Bay and Seaforth Channel - No sign of fish in the shallows

Mathieson Channel and Powell Anchourage - No spawn but fish remain in the area

Spiller Channel - Have had a broken spawn starting 1.5 miles south of the 
Lagoon to the entrance of Spiller Inlet(approx 11 miles). Egg deposition 1 to 2 
layers. Active spawn today from Neekas Inlet southward 2.7 miles towards the 
Lagoon. 

Troup Passage - 2.5 miles of active spawn yesterday on the eastern shore of 
Chatfield Island from Sabiston Island extending 2.5 miles northward. Today the 
Chatfield Island spawn is washed out but spawn is active for approximately 2 
miles around the two large islands near the narrows.

Higgins Passage, Kitasu Bay & Clifford Bay - No spawn to date although fish are 
moving toward shallows.

Scratches - Herring present in small schools 1 to 2 tons
Skimmer - Herring spread out near the surface, difficult to quantify
Fish on bottom - Herring too close to the bottom to quantify
Washed out spawn - Spawn that is coming to an end
Miles - Means nautical miles for this bulletin 

Sooke Post to assess Seaforth Channel area, Christav headed to Troup Passage 
and Gunboat Passage, Franciscan No 1 to remain in Kitasu Bay.
