Fishery Notice

As of August 5, 2026, the return of Chinook Salmon to the Alsek and Tatshenshini rivers drainage has exceeded the upper end of the spawning goal range (3,500 - 5,300) and the return of Chinook Salmon in the Alsek and Tatshenshini rivers is projected to exceed 6,400 fish.

As a result, the daily and possession limits for Chinook salmon in Yukon portions of the Alsek and Tatshenshini rivers will be increased from zero (0) to one (1) fish per day and two (2) in possession in the recreational angling fishery effective August 12, 2026 through October 31, 2026.

Effective from 00:01 hours August 12, 2026 to 23:59 hours October 31, 2026.

Variation Order Number: 2026-RFQ-340 in effect

This fishery is targeting on Chinook salmon and retention of Sockeye salmon will be prohibited until further notice.

Only single-pointed barbless hooks with a gap of less than 20 mm (3/4") are permitted.
