Fishery Notice

Fisheries and Oceans Canada is in the process of finalizing amendments to the British Columbia Sport Fishing Regulations (BCSFR). 

The proposed amendments will be published to the Canada Gazette part I on July 4, 2026.
These regulatory amendments support flexible and adaptive in-season management; provide clarity for enforcement and fishers; support conservation objectives; streamline regulatory requirements; reduce the size and complexity of conditions of licence; and support the social, cultural and economic value of the BC recreational fishery.


The public is invited to visit the Canada Gazette website at to access and view the BCSFR regulatory amendments in their entirety. Public comment must be made on the Online Regulatory Consultation System (ORCS). The public will have 30 calendar days to provide comments, and comments will conclude on August 2, 2026.
