FN0616-RECREATIONAL - Salmon: Area 28 (Howe Sound) - Pink Salmon Opportunities and Daily Limit
Effective at 00:01 hours Monday, July 6, 2015 until 23:59 hours, Thursday, March 31, 2016, the daily limit for pink salmon is four (4) per day in Subareas 28-1 to 28-5. This daily limit is consistent with other southern BC marine waters. Variation Order: 2015-303 This management action is outlined in the 2015-16 South Coast Salmon Integrated Fisheries Management Plan(IFMP), Recreational Fishing Plan (Appendix 6). Notes: Barbless hooks are required when fishing for salmon in tidal waters of British Columbia. Sport anglers are encouraged to participate in the Salmon Sport Head Recovery program by labelling and submitting heads from adipose fin-clipped chinook and coho salmon. Recovery of coded-wire tags provides critical information for coast-wide stock assessment. Contact the Salmon Sport Head Recovery Program toll free at (866) 483-9994 for further information. Anglers are advised to check http://bcsportfishguide.ca for fishing closures and other recreational fishing information.
