FN0975-Salmon: Economic Fishing Opportunity - Area 29 - Lower Fraser Area - Opening
Beach Seines will be open 08:00-16:00 hours daily on October 18 and October 19 in Area 29 on the Fraser River main stem from the Port Mann Bridge to Hope Bridge. Additional opportunities may be provided if the allocation is not harvested within the times noted above. Only individuals designated by the Aitchelitz, Chawathil, Cheam, Katzie, Kwaw Kwaw Apilt, Kwantlen, Peters, Shxwhay, Shxw'ow'hamel, Skawahlook, Skowkale, Skwah, Soowahlie, Squiala, Sumas, Tzeachten, and Yakweakwioose Indian Bands are authorized to participate in this fishery. Fishers are advised to contact their local bands for a copy of the conditions of this licence. This fishery is targeting chum salmon based on a current provisional run size of 1.9M. All efforts and attempts shall be made to return all non target species to the water alive. All chinook, steelhead, wild or hatchery marked coho salmon and sturgeon must not be retained. There is a mandatory requirement for an observer to be present at all times during the fishery to record information on retained catch and releases. All salmon retained under the authority of this licence must be transported to the nearest landing station and made available for inspection.
