The department will review catch from this fishery, brood stock collection, observed lake abundance and abundance in river to determine if further commercial fishing opportunities are warranted. It is imperative that fishermen report into FOS prior to fishing and after each fishing day. Failure to do so will limit fishing opportunities The runsize for Nitinat was upgraded to 425,000 as a result of the CPUE from the assessment fishery. Enumeration by hatchery staff and Stock assessment Indicate a total escapement 175,0000 chum in the lake and river system to date. This triggers the commercial fisheries this week.
