The use of power skiffs is approved.

Brailing is not mandatory in this fishery. Harvesters are requested to brail
when feasible, catch must be sorted in a wet area. Harvesters are asked to take
all possible actions to release prohibited species in the best possible
condition. Harvesters should anticipate that their catch will be monitored for
prohibited species during offloading.

This is a two day fishery with no possibility of extension. The department will
review catch from this fishery, brood stock collection, observed lake abundance
and abundance in river to determine if further commercial fishing opportunities
are warranted.

It is imperative that fishermen report into FOS prior to fishing and after each
fishing day. Failure to do so will limit fishing opportunities

The runsize for Nitinat was upgraded to 425,000 as a result of the CPUE from
the assessment fishery. Enumeration by hatchery staff and Stock assessment
Indicate a total escapement 175,0000 chum in the lake and river system to
date. This triggers the commercial fisheries this week.

A conference call with Area B and E harvest committee advisors will be arranged
for Monday October 19 to review escapement and fishing results. If abundance
is adequate, commercial fisheries will be announced on short notice.
