FN0639- Sanitary - Changes to Sanitary Closure for Bivalve Shellfish in Area 15


The following new, revised or revoked sanitary shellfish closure boundary is 
now in effect as a result of recommendations from the Pacific Interdepartmental 
Shellfish Committee: 

Closure 15.29  Refuge Cove, West Redonda Islands - a new closure is now in 
effect in the following area:

The waters and intertidal foreshore of Refuge Cove, West Redonda Island, lying 
northeast of a line drawn across the entrance to the small cove from a point of 
land at 50° 07.57' north latitude and 124° 50.81' west longitude, thence 
southeasterly to the headland on the opposite shore at 50° 07.51' north 
latitude and 124° 50.66' west longitude (NAD83).

January 1 to December 31

Note that this notice does not describe other sanitary closures which may be in 
effect, or Paralytic Shellfish Poisoning (PSP, red tide) and other marine 
biotoxin closures.  Detailed bivalve shellfish closure information and maps are 
available at our website: http://www.pac.dfo-mpo.gc.ca/psp and at local DFO 
offices.
