The most recent marine biotoxin results were acceptable. Please see the summary table for the current status of all subareas in Area 2. Area 13 Effective immediately there is a harvest prohibition for geoduck and horse clams in Subareas 13-15 and 13-16. The geoduck fishery in Subareas 13-15 and 13-16 is complete. Effective immediately the harvest prohibition for geoduck and horse clams is lifted in Subareas 13-12 to 13-14. The most recent marine biotoxin results were acceptable. Area 14 Effective immediately there is a harvest prohibition for geoduck and horse clams in Subareas 14-3, 14-5, 14-6, 14-8, 14-9, 14-12, 14-14 and 14-15. Area 17 Effective immediately there is a harvest prohibition for geoduck and horse clams in Subareas 17-5 and 17-6. The geoduck fishery in Subareas 17-5 and 17-6 is complete. Area 26 Effective immediately there is a harvest prohibition for all bivalve shellfish in Subareas 26-5 and 26-6 The product may be contaminated given the deviance from the sampling requirements established under the biotoxin monitoring program. SUMMARY: The following information in this fishery notice reflects Paralytic Shellfish Poisoning (PSP, red tide) and other marine toxin closures as of July 3, 2015 for bivalve shellfish (oysters, clams, scallops, mussels, and geoduck). Note that this fishery notice does not describe sewage contamination closures. Area 4 The waters and intertidal foreshore of a portion of Subarea 4-9 inside a line that commences at a point on the shore of Digby Island at 54°17.371' north latitude and 130°27.654' west longitude, thence to a point on the shore of the largest of the Lucy Islands at 54°17.666' north latitude and 130°36.575 west longitude, thence to a point on the shore of Rachel Island at 54°12.770' north latitude and 130°33.643' west longitude, thence to a point on the shore of Digby Island at 54°15.865' north latitude and 130°25.623' west longitude, thence following the shore of Digby Island to the point of commencement, closed to all bivalve shellfish except scallops; Balance of Area 4 closed to all bivalve shellfish. Subarea information is not in the British Columbia Tidal Waters Sport Fishing Guide, but it is readily available in non-navigable Subarea management charts that can be obtained at DFO offices. In addition, descriptions of Subareas are set out in the Pacific Fishery Management Area Regulations, 2007.
