UPDATE: Maps of Fishery Management Areas and Subareas can be found at: http://www.pac.dfo-mpo.gc.ca/fm-gp/contamination/biotox/index-eng.htm Area 26 Effective immediately the harvest prohibition for manila clams, littleneck clams, oysters and mussels is lifted in Subarea 26-6. The most recent marine biotoxin results were acceptable. Please see the summary table for the current status of all subareas in Area 26. SUMMARY: The following information in this fishery notice reflects Paralytic Shellfish Poisoning (PSP, red tide) and other marine toxin closures as of June 16, 2015 for bivalve shellfish (oysters, clams, scallops, mussels, and geoduck). Note that this fishery notice does not describe sewage contamination closures. Area 2 Subarea 2-1 closed to all bivalve shellfish except oysters; Subareas 2-42 to 2-44, 2-47 and 2-49 to 2-60 closed to all bivalve shellfish except geoduck and horse clams; Balance of Area 2 closed to all bivalve shellfish. Area 3 Closed to all bivalve shellfish. Area 4 The waters and intertidal foreshore of a portion of Subarea 4-9 inside a line that commences at a point on the shore of Digby Island at 54°17.371' north latitude and 130°27.654' west longitude, thence to a point on the shore of the largest of the Lucy Islands at 54°17.666' north latitude and 130°36.575 west longitude, thence to a point on the shore of Rachel Island at 54°12.770' north latitude and 130°33.643' west longitude, thence to a point on the shore of Digby Island at 54°15.865' north latitude and 130°25.623' west longitude, thence following the shore of Digby Island to the point of commencement, closed to all bivalve shellfish except scallops; Balance of Area 4 closed to all bivalve shellfish. Areas 5 to 12 Closed to all bivalve shellfish.
