Fishery Notice

Unless otherwise specified below, the daily limit for coho is two (2) per day, 
hatchery marked only from June 1 to December 31, 2014. Management measures may 
change in season depending on the decision with 2014 Interior Fraser Coho 
exploitation rates. Any changes to coho regulations will be released in a 
subsequent fishery notice.

Please be aware that these limits do not apply to salmon non-retention areas 
and/or fin-fish closed areas.  Please check the DFO website referenced at the 
bottom of this notice for further information. 

Subareas 111, 11-1, 11-2 and 12-14 (Portion of Queen Charlotte Sound)

Effective 00:01 hours June 1 until 23:59 hours July 31, 2014 you may retain 
two (2) coho per day (hatchery marked or unmarked).

Effective 00:01 hours August 1 until 23:59 hours December 31, 2014, you may 
retain two (2) coho per day, one (1) of which may be wild (unmarked).

Subareas 11-3 to 11-10 (inside Nakwakto Rapids)

Effective immediately until 23:59 hours December 31, 2014, you may retain two 
(2) coho per day (hatchery marked or unmarked).

Subareas 12-3 to 12-13, 12-15 to 12-19 and 12-21 to 12-48
----------------------------------
Effective 00:01 hours June 1 until 23:59 hours July 31, 2014, you may retain 
two (2) coho per day, only one (1) of which may be wild (unmarked).

Portion of Subarea 12-4 (Beaver Cove)

Effective 00:01 hours August 1 until 23:59 hours December 31, 2014 in that 
portion of Subarea 12-4 shoreward of a line running from Lewis Point to 
50°32.839' N and 126°50.122' W near the southwest entrance to Telegraph Cove 
(commonly known as Beaver Cove), you may retain two (2) coho per day, only one 
(1) of which may be wild (unmarked).

Portion of Area 12-19

Effective 00:01 hours August 1 until 23:59 hours December 31, 2014 in that 
portion of Subarea 12-19, in the waters of McNeill Bay inside a line from Ledge 
Point to the BC Ferry Terminal, you may retain two (2) coho per day, only one 
(1) of which may be wild (unmarked).

Area 12-26 to 12-48 (Mainland Inlets)

Effective 00:01 hours August 1 until 23:59 hours December 31, 2014, you may 
retain two (2) coho per day, only one (1) of which may be wild (unmarked).

Portion of Area 12-16 (Hardy Bay)
----------------------------------
Effective 00:01 hours August 1 until 23:59 hours December 31, 2014 in that 
portion of Subarea 12-16 (Hardy Bay) inside of line from Duval to Daphne Point, 
you may retain four (4) hatchery marked coho per day.

Subareas 13-20, 13-21, a portion of 13-22 (East Side of Stuart Island and a 
portion of Bute Inlet)

Effective 00:01 hours August 1 until 23:59 hours September 15, 2014 in 
Subareas 13-20, 13-21 and that portion of Subarea 13-22 described as those 
waters in Bute Inlet from the RCA boundary sign at Littleton Point across to 
the opposite shore at 50°49.9' N and 124°51.63' W, you may retain two (2) coho 
per day, only one (1) of which may be wild (unmarked).

Notes:

Barbless hooks are required when fishing for salmon in tidal and non-tidal 
waters of British Columbia.  

Anglers are requested to release any hatchery marked sockeye.  These fish are 
hatchery raised sockeye and part of a recovery program designed to increase the 
numbers of Cultus Lake sockeye.

The term "hatchery marked" means a fish that has a healed scar in place of the 
adipose fin.

Sport anglers are encouraged to participate in the Salmon Sport Head Recovery 
program by labelling and submitting heads from adipose fin-clipped chinook and 
coho salmon.  Recovery of coded-wire tags provides critical information for 
coast-wide stock assessment.  Contact the Salmon Sport Head Recovery Program 
toll free at (866) 483-9994 for further information.

Rockfish Conservation Areas that are currently in effect and are closed to all 
fin fishing.  Descriptions of these closures, and other recreational fishing 
information, can be found on the Internet at:
