FN1200-Licensing - 2013 Transporting Licence Issuance
Transporting licences for 2013 will be available commencing Friday December 21, 2012 at Pacific Fishery Licence Units in Vancouver, Prince Rupert and Nanaimo. Applications may be requested in person at the Pacific Fishery Licence Units, or requested to be sent by mail, facsimile, or e-mail. Please be advised that licensing service delivery changes start to come into effect as of January 1st 2013. For the period of Jan 1 2013 to Mar 31 2013, normal licensing services, along with transport applications are available upon request from a Pacific Fishery Licence Unit. In addition, a phased roll-out will allow select clients access to online licensing services. On April 1 2013, counter services are scheduled to close, and licence renewal will proceed only via the online services as described on our web page: http://www.dfo- mpo.gc.ca/fm-gp/sdc-cps/index-eng.htm. Note that licence validation decals will not be provided for 2013. Prior to licence issuance, vessel owners and/or licence eligibility holders must ensure that: (1) The vessel identified on a Transporting application meets Fisheries and Oceans Canada vessel registration requirements. (2) Report of expected commercial transport operation (letter of support) is required. The report should be from the company or person that the vessel will be transporting for. The report should detail the name and VRN of the vessel on the transporting application, the name and VRN of the licensed fishing vessel, the species and the fishing year. (3) Previous year transport activity will be verified. Verifiable continued packing activity is required for issuance of a Transport licence from year to year. (4) The vessel owner or any authorized representative may sign the application. Application may be submitted in person, by facsimile, or by mail to a Pacific Fishery Licence Unit until March 31st 2013. From April 1st 2013, licence renewal will be online only.
