Geoduck licences for the 2013 fishery year are available commencing 09:00 hours Friday, December 21, 2012 at the Pacific Fishery Licence Unit (PFLU) nearest you. Licence eligibility holders may request pre-printed applications in person at a PFLU, or to be sent by mail, e-mail or facsimile. Please be advised that licensing service delivery changes start to come into effect as of January 1st 2013. For the period of Jan 1 2013 to Mar 31 2013, normal licensing services, along with licence renewal applications are available upon request from a Pacific Fishery Licence Unit. In addition, a phased roll-out will allow select clients access to online licensing services. On April 1 2013, counter services are scheduled to close, and licence renewal will proceed only via the online services as described on our web page: http://www.dfo-mpo.gc.ca/fm-gp/sdc-cps/index-eng.htm. Prior to annual licence issue vessel owners must: Ensure any Ministerial conditions placed on the licence eligibility are met. Ensure any conditions of the previous year's licence are met, e.g. completion, submission, and approval of any logbook fish slip or quota overage requirements. For further information, contact the Shellfish Data Unit at (250) 756-7306 or (250) 756-7022. Contact the Underwater Harvesters Association (UHA) to arrange for payment of voluntary Association fees and obtaining Service Bureau services. A vessel may hold a maximum of 50 quota blocks in total on a maximum of five Geoduck licence eligibilities. Geoduck vessel replacement applications are accepted at any time. Application may be submitted in person, by facsimile, or by mail to a Pacific Fishery Licence Unit until March 31st 2013. From April 1st 2013, licence renewal will be online only.
