Area 26
Effective immediately the harvest prohibition for manila clams, littleneck 
clams, oysters and mussels is lifted in Subarea 26-5.

The most recent marine biotoxin results were acceptable.

Please see the summary table for the current status of all Subareas in Area 26.

Area 101
Effective immediately there is a harvest prohibition for all bivalve shellfish 
in Subarea 101-7.

The geoduck fishery in Subarea 101-7 is complete.

Please see the summary table for the current status of all Subareas in Area 101.

SUMMARY:

The following information in this fishery notice reflects Paralytic Shellfish 
Poisoning (PSP, red tide) and other marine toxin closures as of September 14, 
2015 for bivalve shellfish (oysters, clams, scallops, mussels, and geoduck).  
Note that this fishery notice does not describe sewage contamination closures.

Area 1
Subarea 1-5 closed to all bivalve shellfish except razor clams; 
Balance of Area 1 closed to all bivalve shellfish.

Area 2
Subarea 2-18 closed to all bivalve shellfish except geoduck and horse clams;  
That portion of Subarea 2-31 North and West of a line starting at 52 degrees 
07.09 minutes north latitude, 131 degrees 10.70 minutes west longitude running 
due West to the Subarea boundary at 52 degrees 07.09 minutes north latitude and 
131 degrees 16.40 minutes west longitude closed to all bivalve shellfish except 
geoduck and horse clams;  
Subareas 2-32, 2-33, 2-35 and 2-36 closed to all bivalve shellfish except 
geoduck and horse clams;
Balance of Area 2 closed to all bivalve shellfish.

Area 3
Closed to all bivalve shellfish. 

Area 4
The waters and intertidal foreshore of a portion of Subarea 4-9 inside a line 
that commences at a point on the shore of Digby Island at 54°17.371' north 
latitude and 130°27.654' west longitude, thence to a point on the shore of the 
largest of the Lucy Islands at 54°17.666' north latitude and 130°36.575 west 
longitude, thence to a point on the shore of Rachel Island at 54°12.770' north 
latitude and 130°33.643' west longitude, thence to a point on the shore of 
Digby Island at 54°15.865' north latitude and 130°25.623' west longitude, 
thence following the shore of Digby Island to the point of commencement, closed 
to all bivalve shellfish except scallops;  
Balance of Area 4 closed to all bivalve shellfish. 

Areas 5 to 12
Closed to all bivalve shellfish.

Area 13
Subarea 13-1 closed to all bivalve shellfish except manila clams, littleneck 
clams, oysters, mussels and pink and spiny scallops;
Subareas 13-12 to 13-14 closed to all bivalve shellfish except manila clams, 
littleneck clams, oysters, mussels and scallops;
Subareas 13-15 and 13-16 closed to geoduck and horse clams only;
Subarea 13-17 closed to geoduck and horse clams and butter clams only;
Balance of Area 13 closed to all bivalve shellfish.

Area 14 
Subareas 14-1 to 14-4 and 14-13 closed to all bivalve shellfish except manila 
clams, littleneck clams, oysters and mussels;
Subareas 14-5 and 14-8 closed to geoduck and horse clams and butter clams only;
Subareas 14-6, 14-9, 14-10, 14-12 and 14-14 closed to geoduck and horse clams, 
butter clams and scallops only;

Area 15
Subareas 15-1 to 15-3 closed to all bivalve shellfish except manila clams,

Subarea 15-5 except that portion south of a line drawn from a point on the 
northeast shoreline of Raza Island at 50°18.26' north latitude and 124°58.10' 
west longitude, thence easterly to a point on the west coast of West Redonda 
Island at 50°18.12' north latitude and 124°55.48' west longitude, thence 
southerly following the shoreline of West Redonda Island to a point at 50°
12.29' north latitude and 124°56.55' west longitude, thence southwesterly to a 
point on the northeast coast of Cortes Island at 50°11.74' north latitude and 
124°56.94' west longitude, thence northwesterly following the shoreline of 
Cortes Island to Bullock Bluff, thence true north following the boundary line 
to Raza Island, and thence following the shoreline northeasterly back to the 
point of commencement closed to all bivalve shellfish except manila clams, 
littleneck clams, oysters, mussels and scallops; 
Balance of Area 15 closed to all bivalve shellfish.   
	
Area 16
Subareas 16-1 to 16-8, 16-10, 16-11, 16-16 to 16-22 closed to all bivalve 
shellfish except manila clams, littleneck clams, oysters and mussels;
Subareas 16-9, 16-12 and 16-13 closed to butter clams, scallops, geoduck and 
horse clams only;
Balance of Area 16 closed to all bivalve shellfish.

Area 17
Subareas 17-1 to 17-4, 17-7 to 17-15, 17-18, 17-19 and 17-21 closed to all 
bivalve shellfish except manila clams, littleneck clams, oysters and mussels;
Subareas 17-5 and 17-17 closed to all bivalve shellfish except manila clams, 
littleneck clams, oysters, mussels and butter clams;
Subarea 17-6 closed to all bivalve shellfish except manila clams, littleneck 
clams, oysters, mussels, geoduck and horse clams; 
Subarea 17-16 closed to all bivalve shellfish except manila clams, littleneck

clams, oysters, mussels, geoduck and horse clams;
Subarea 19-6 closed to all bivalve shellfish except manila clams, littleneck 
clams, oysters and mussels;
Balance of Area 19 closed to all bivalve shellfish.

Area 20
Subareas 20-1 to 20-5 closed to all bivalve shellfish except manila clams,

Area 23
Subarea 23-6 (except that portion of Subarea 23-6 northeast of a line drawn 
from a point of land at 48 degrees 58.47 minutes north latitude and 125 degrees 
04.92 minutes west longitude to a point of land at 48 degrees 58.61 minutes 
north latitude and 125 degrees 05.05 minutes west longitude, known as Useless 
Inlet) closed to all bivalve shellfish except manila clams, littleneck clams, 
oysters and mussels;
Balance of Area 23 closed to all bivalve shellfish.

Area 24
Closed to all bivalve shellfish.

Area 25
Subareas 25-1 to 25-7 and 25-15 closed to all bivalve shellfish except manila 
clams, littleneck clams, oysters and mussels; 
Balance of Area 25 closed to all bivalve shellfish. 

Area 26
Subarea 26-5 closed to all bivalve shellfish except manila clams, littleneck

NOTES:
Details are broken into Areas and Subareas, as managed by Fisheries and Oceans 
Canada (DFO).  Subarea information is not in the British Columbia Tidal Waters 
Sport Fishing Guide, but it is readily available in non-navigable Subarea 
management charts that can be obtained at DFO offices.  In addition, 
descriptions of Subareas are set out in the Pacific Fishery Management Area 
Regulations, 2007.  These regulations are available at libraries and from the 
DFO Pacific Internet at:
